Sheila Spain, MFT, RN, PhD

My journey to Art of Soul represents a culmination of diverse professional experiences. As a clinical nurse, I nurtured individuals through physical, emotional, and spiritual healing and their families. Critical care was my favorite context in hospital nursing.

During my tenure as a faculty member at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma WA, I taught nursing and mentored students guiding them in personal growth, clinical skills, and professional development.

Transitioning into mental health therapy, specializing in chronic illness and trauma, I facilitated healing using methods like EMDR. Working with couples, I utilized relationship dynamics to support each individual to navigate their role in the dyadic system using the Gottman Method as a foundation to this process. We are relational beings - it’s where the rubber meets the road. The best education of all.

These varied paths have profoundly shaped my understanding of the human experience and the soul's journey. I am enthusiastic about applying this wealth of experience to guide others through transformative practices with Art of Soul. My aim is to facilitate personal soul journeys, aiding individuals in exploring diverse aspects of the self and achieving balance and integration across all dimensions of their being.

On a more personal note, I love my family and all 7 grandchildren, my dedicated partner and husband, and my dear companion Stanley. I enjoy nature, hiking, kayaking, reading and gaining skills in watercolor. Life is full and richly textured. I never want to quit growing and developing.
